Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage: Visit this popular sanctuary in Sabaragamuwa Province, dedicated to the care and rehabilitation of orphaned and injured elephants. Morning: After breakfast, climb the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site built in the 5th century by King Kasyapa. Rising 200 meters above the landscape, the fortress features frescoes, landscaped gardens, water gardens, and the ruins of an ancient palace complex.
Hiriwadunna Village Safari: Enjoy an authentic rural experience near Sigiriya. Explore paddy fields, serene lakes, and lush greenery while interacting with locals. Activities include land master rides, boat rides, and traditional cooking demonstrations, providing insight into village life and customs.
Evening: Visit the Ancient City of Polonnaruwa, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and former capital of Sri Lanka (11th–13th century). Explore its palaces, temples, colossal Buddha statues, and monuments that reflect the rich cultural and architectural heritage of the period.

Morning: After breakfast, check out and depart for the heritage city of Kandy, visiting the Dambulla Cave Temple en route. Known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla, this UNESCO World Heritage Site comprises five caves carved into a giant rock, adorned with over 150 Buddha statues, frescoes, and paintings. The largest cave, Maharaja Vihara, houses a 14-meter-long reclining Buddha statue, one of Asia’s largest.
En Route: Stop at a Spice Garden in Matale to explore a variety of spices used in Sri Lankan cuisine, including cinnamon, cardamom, vanilla, and cloves. Visitors can taste, learn about cultivation, and purchase spices—but exercise discretion while buying and negotiate prices.
Arrival in Kandy: Explore the local market and enjoy open-air views of the picturesque hill capital, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the last stronghold of Sinhalese Kings before British rule. Visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic (Dalada Maligawa), the Royal Palace ruins, Audience Hall, and Bathing Pavilion on Kiri Samudraya Island.
Evening Activities: Witness the Kandy Cultural Show at 17:00 hrs, followed by the Traditional Theva Ceremony at the Temple of the Tooth Relic at 18:30 hrs. The ceremony includes offerings such as flowers, sugar, honey, ghee, and the “Gilan Pasa” juice offerings in gold and silver goblets, continuing traditions established during King Keerthi Sri Rajasinghe’s reign.

Morning: After breakfast, depart from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya, en route visiting the scenic Ramboda Falls and a local tea factory.
